How can I reuse or recycle shower gel bottles?

shower-gel-bottleOk, we’ve already covered shampoo bottles and plastic drinking bottles but I think shower gel bottles are a little different.

The ones I use have got a little, I don’t know, valve thing on the top to stop the gel falling out while they hang upside down in the shower. I don’t know whether this would stop anything as wet as water but the liquid gel stuff stays put.

So could this be used for anything else? I guess I could refill it with liquid soap for sink-based handwashing – either commercial stuff I’ve bought in bulk or when I get around to make my own from soapnuts – but any different, non-soapy suggestions?

Well, they have a handy plastic hook, therefore – should keep hanging. Try to fill them up with water, make few holes and hang above your basket with plants, and if you make a square hole just under the hook – it will collect rain water too!
you can also try to cut 2 wholes -one on each side (closer to the top), fill it with seeds and voila – you have another bird feeder!

  4. use them to hold water and you can splash people with them. cheap water guns

I put my shampoo and conditioner in mine and leave my tub sides empty and clean. The only problem is after a while they start to leak or the tops break.

Cut the bottle wo inches below the hook area, make halls along the perimeter. Attach metal pipes or other material for a wind chime. Hang outside.

Attach the bottle to a long stick. You can reach far branches on a fruit tree, pull them closer to get the fruit.

Cut an opening in a bottle above the bottom, fill with bird feed and hang on a tree.
