Hi whereabouts is the Oxfam shop that takes your videos etc? Our local Oxfam shops do not take them nor do Cancer Research in Shirley/ Solihull area.
I have a numerous collection of children’s, teenager and adult videos.
Seems such a shame to throw them away, surely someone would like them?

Have 60-70 assorted videos, many unwatched (Brideshead Revisited boxset; lots of Shakespeare; 4 vol boxed set Monty Python; etc) plus 30-40 children’s videos (original Disney, children’s TV, etc). I would like them to go to a good home – used to be able to recycle them so they went to poorer countries to be watched there, but nowhere seems to do that any more. If anyone knows where I could take them, or would like any of these, please email me on jane66andrews@outlook.com

It’s been painful, but we’ve finally accepted that nobody wants 99% of the motley VHS collection that fills the living room cupboard. We have a local general recycling site but I was reading somewhere that only cassette boxes can be recycled as plastic; the amount of chemicals on the tape mean that they end up in landfill.
In hunting around for an alternative solution I came across the firm EMS near Bristol. You pay the postage costs, or drop off on the way to the West Country, but at least they recycle the things properly. Might be worth a try? (Apologies if the firm has already been mentioned on the forum).

Have two videos for which I’m sure there must be interest. They are the BBC’s Martin Chuzzlewit and ITV’s Edward and Mrs Simpson, both boxed sets and in excellent condition. Am I right to assume there are people out there who would be interested? Have tried Freecycle without success.

Have some VHS video tapes including 2 Starwars sets, Red Dwarf boxed set, some Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings as well as some sundry films. Just seems heartless to throw them as most;y gifts from family. If any one can still use them would be happy to send them on.

I have almost complete collections of Sharpe videos and Inspector Morse. These have only been played once or twice. Commercially recorded and in their original cases. Berkhamsted, Herts. Free to a good home.
