All the donations are processed by a professional recycling company. They hand sort every donation and either sell on the valuable pieces, or break-up/melt-down damaged items, and the residue is sold to a specialist scrap merchant.

Anything is acceptable – damaged pieces, odd ear rings, stopped watches, snapped chains, costume jewellery or the real stuff.

      Hello J Brill
Are you anywhere near me? – I live in Matlock, Derbyshire. I would like to dispose of a lot of old costume jewellery – nothing valuable. Don’t want to bin it – love craft but have no creativity in me = can’t bear to throw things away.
      Love
      Janet

I live in Mesa az. I am making Christmas containers for charity. Theses are turning out beautiful. All my jewelry has been donated by friends and neighbors however I am running short of jewelry. I pay for all other supplies. If you still have jewelry left I can send you a picture of some of them. Every one is individual. I am doing these for young women and girls in crisis. So far have made 83 and would like to get to 150.
        Thank you for your interest.

  10. My name is Caroline and I love recycling vintage jewellery into amazing tiaras for brides to wear on their wedding day.
Very often I get the bride who wants to wear something belonging to a relative to incorporate into their headpiece so it is more sentimental.
The vogue for vintage will never fade… lots of brides want something unique and using vintage jewellery gives them that.
I would welcome anyone with vintage jewellery who would like it to “live again” to contact me at [email address deleted by admin as requested]
    thankyou

  12. In the past the Sanskrit word prana may be translated in to the element air rather then ether or space.
The warmed room outfits not simply an alluring put to work out when the temperature drops underneath 15 degrees, but furthermore a nature that extends
unyieldingness, center and diligence. Even 5 minutes of laughter keeps our stress at lowest possible level.

  13. Hi Louisa, your blog is wonderful – putting people in touch with charities to donate their old jewellery. You should be so proud :)

Anybody point me in the direction of somewhere in or near London that can help me work out what pieces of my late mother’s jewellery are valuable – I think some is gold/gold plated or sterling silver but do not want to pay a small fortune to have that confirmed or otherwise. Also have some watches and a single strand of pearls (possibly fake bought c. 1960 or 1970 I believe, Lorus brand, in their original box too.

Thanks for any help with this one.

  18. Denise Glenn says:

    Hi
Please can u tell me if the address for Marie Curie is still active as I have a lot of Costume and broken Jewellery and breads to donate.

    • jacqueline brill says:

Hi I think I started this whole link a few years ago. If you have not managed to find the Marie Curie address I would be more than happy to accept anything. Most charities do not accept broken jewellery anymore. I work for some charity based groups making jewellery with broken bits and pieces with young women. It would mean you posting it to me. Let me know if this is acceptable. Jacqueline Brill

  19. jill says:

Hi, I have some really nice sterling, beaded jewelry and more and am trying to clean out as I’ve hung on to these things since my late teens, some 30 years! If Marie Curie is still accepting donations and the address is still current I’d be happy to send over a box full of jewelry. Otherwise, Jaqueline would you be interested and what is your address?Some/many of the pieces are in need of repair and I have some single earrings as well.
    Let me know!
    Thank-you
    Jill

  20. Hi,
I too am looking for old jewellery old, new, broken or not. I have been buying beaded items from charity shops but it’s become too costly. We remake the jewellery and sell at fairs to raise funds. We also make beaded items for children in hospitals (our charity supports children with cancer). If anyone has any items to donate I would be extremely happy to pay for postage or possibly collect. My email address is londonderryair@gmail.com

    Many thanks,
    Aiobhean

  21. Ellie says:

Hi, have broken jewelry and beads to donate. I would prefer not to give to a cancer research charity as am anti-vivisection. However, I would be willing give to any other charity or person who can make good use of them.

    Can anybody help?

    Ellie
