Comments on: How can I reuse or recycle skateboard wheels?

My son could use the wheels on the ‘dolly’ that he wants to make for moving a camera around while he is filming.

He needs 16 wheels altogether. Could anyone advise the best place to get hold of more (free) skateboard wheels?

okaii i have alot of old bike parts and tires what can i do with me old bike parts? because i dont just want to throw them out and most6 of them are 2 rusty to just pass them on to a friend.

I use them to make winders for my kite lines. One on the centre shaft, one on the winding handle.

I also use them as a centre bearing for a rotating windsock.

Erm . . . if you still have them, and don’t need them . . .

Those clocks and coat racks are HOT! Better tell my die-hard skate-loving cousin about those. =3 I would use them as paperweights or just keep them on shelves as sort of medals as to how hardcore said skater is.

They are great for as a replacement part in gliders (rockers). Find a local handiman or furniture builder, used are welcomed as they aren’t seen and usually work much better than the original parts

I used the wheels of my son’s (Now 33) skate board to form the runners on a scissor jack that I produced for lifting and lowering hot model steam locomotives.

You can use them to make a makeshift dolly for making movies.

You could attach a bottom and use them as interesting candle holders

Could they be carved into to use a a printing roller if you could rig up a handle? Not sure what they are made of – may be to hard. Or perhaps you could glue shapes on cut out of funky foam instead of carving into the wheel.

With some watertight caulk and a solid bottom (possibly an old mousepad or soda can) you can make a spiffy vase. It may only hold a flower at a time, but what a conversation piece!

With a little paint, maybe weights for a table cloth?
