You can use them for print making instead of a lino block. carve lines into the foam with a stiff object, cover with paint, apply paper and rub gently. Carefully peel the paper off. A mirror image of your design will appear on the paper

Wash them well; break them up into smaller pieces; and use them for packing material.

If you are doing any DIY around the house use them instead of roller paint trays.

I have used the deeper ‘trays’ too for:
1) growing seedlings – put holes in for drainage,and
2) grouping small food items into them e.g. vanilla flavouring bottle, stock cube packet, to separate them from the rest of my food cupboard. This keeps them together and stops them disappearing behind large items!

I use the foam ones under plant pots. I also use them when the kids want to grow cress – just a couple of sheet sof kitchen roll folded up on one of them works fine.
